Story
Bryan Ruby is a rising country music artist based in Nashville, Tennessee. As a songwriter, Bryan has over 40 cuts, with songs he penned appearing on the Texas Country Top 50 chart and the iTunes Country Top 25 (#16). He was a finalist in the 2023 John Lennon International Songwriting Prize. His work has been featured in Huffington Post and People Magazine, and he won Season 7 of the talent-search competition Nashville Rising Song. His debut single, “Left Field” came in June 2022, and was featured on The TODAY Show, added to rotation on SiriusXM’s Country Pride and the Academy of Country Music's Ultimate Pride Playlist. His latest project was featured on major playlists, including Spotify's All New Country, Amazon's Pride Country, New Country Music Friday with Country Pickinz, and ACM Fresh Music Friday. In 2024, Bryan debuted at Nashville Pride and was featured with SiriusXM Country Pride liners.
With rich vocals and authentic storytelling on follow-up singles “Two For The Road” (Aug. ‘22), “The Standouts” (Oct. ‘22), “Christmas With You” (Nov. ‘22), “Baseball Country” (March ‘23), “The Standouts (Heroes Version)” feat. Ty Herndon (June ‘23), “It’s A Wonderful Life” (Nov. ’23), debut EP Diamonds Are Forever (Oct. ’23), and sophomore EP Found & Lost (July '24), Bryan has captivated listeners. The Nash News praises his “introspective and relatable storytelling,” while MusicRow Magazine highlights his “expressive baritone,” and The Nashville Scene notes his “honey-bourbon voice that was destined for country music.” Recent press has further celebrated his impact, with Country Universe stating, “Ruby’s songs queer genre tropes in subversive ways, too, and he’s gifted with a distinctive baritone of real range and power."
Bryan made history in 2021 when he publicly came out as gay while playing professional baseball. The inspirational story was featured in USA Today as well as 100+ media outlets around the world, including CBS, Yahoo, Bleacher Report, and Teen Vogue. He then founded Proud To Be In Baseball, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to advocating, educating, and creating opportunities for the next generation of LGBTQ baseball players. Ruby’s nonprofit work has earned him a spot on Out Magazine’s prestigious Out 100 list, OutSports' Power 100 list and the Rising Star award from the Foundation For Love & Acceptance in Nashville.
